Hey everyone, we are back in the land of sun, can you believe this fantastic weather we are having ??
I just love it when the sun shines, it fills me with hope and happy thoughts.
Talking of the weather (how very British) we had a really rough week in the Alps, 4 seasons in one week, rain, wind, sun and snow, in that order too. It rained all the way there, so difficult driving conditions, I didn't pay too much attention though as I was busy crocheting away, working on my 'monster blanket'.
Much progress has been made, all the ends are sewn in now, and about half a pattern repeat to go before I can start the border. Now, what shall I do for the border ? One colour or many ?? ideas on a post card please !
As I said, it rained all the way there and it was still raining the next day, I have never skied in the rain before and have never truly understood the meaning of the phrase 'soaked through to the skin' until this week. The sun came out on day 2, but lots of lifts were closed because of high winds, so we stayed close to home, then we had white-outs and one day of brilliant sunshine when we skied from dawn til dusk - ninja skiing
I don't class myself in the category of ninja skier, I am not the keenest skier in the world and am always apprehensive as we start the day, pondering the day ahead in the bubble lift and wishing I was on a beach in Thailand............
Having said all that we managed to ski everyday, so can't complain, and we had the most gorgeous chalet, with amazing food cooked for us, utterly spoilt on that front. Thank you to Christine and the team at Chalet la Ferme for looking after us so well.
Back to the grind :) and our little woollie world, already thinking about the new blanket, loads of pattern ideas and colours whirling around in my head (don't tell the hubbie).
Hope you all had a fab easter and lots of choccie was eaten. xx
