The devil is in the detail !
Yep, how true is this saying ? The top/dress I started to go with my new 'handmade by me' linen trousers proved a wee bit troublesome on Saturday, not the sewing part, just me being a bit bonkers tracing and cutting the pattern out. I kept forgetting to add the seam allowance on and then adding it onto the neck line where there isn't a seam - anyway 3 attempts later and I was left mentally exhausted. I felt I had to 'abandon ship', well actually I chucked it in the corner in disgust !
Fresh start today, and now I can say, the delight is in the detail, I made some lovely ruffles for the neckline.
Some sweet gathered cuffs on the sleeves
I haven't tried it on over the trousers yet, but have a pretty good idea it's going to work well, I'll take a selfie tomorrow and you can make your own minds up.
The pattern was from the same book as before, 'Clothing for everyday wear' by Yoshiko Tsukiori.
Fabric of course, by LW,
